In just under one month the United States will elect its next leader. And what with the increasingly ridiculous and Arnold Reyes Archivesunbelievable statements uttered by politicians, you'd be forgiven for laughing about a meme or chuckling at a GIF here and there.
But presenter of Australian TV show The Project, Waleed Aly addressed the serious side of the U.S. presidential election, reminding audiences that Donald Trump is not your laughably drunk uncle on Christmas day.

Showing highlights from Trump's campaign, Aly was baffled at how sexual assault and bigotry have been repeatedly "laughed at," with the most recent leaked Access Hollywood tape as evidence.
The Republican candidate's actions speak for themselves and laughing at them, Aly argued, only detracts from the terrifying reality that would coincide with a Trump presidency.

Arguably, laughing in the face of adversity may be the only way to get through the next month with one's sanity intact. Laughing is sometimes important, but voting? Even more so.
